Happy Tax Day Everyone! For starters, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Kelli and I am the senior customer service representative here at Costume Super Center. I’ve been with the company since February 2007 and I have had the pleasure of assisting many of you with your costume needs and concerns.
Today, I would like to tell you about one of the security features on the website – billing verification. When you are placing an order with our company, whether online or with a service representative, you will be asked for your billing address. This should be the address that your credit card is registered to. Generally, most banks and credit card companies only require the card number, expiration date and CVC code in order to authorize your card for a transaction. With the rising risks of credit card and identity theft, our system also requires the bank to verify the billing address as well. An order will not process without a verified billing address. Some of you may have experienced this before. I get several calls from customers wondering why there is an authorization on their credit card, but no order. Again, this is because most issuing banks and credit card institutions do not require billing addresses to match. The charge on the account is not an actual charge, but an authorization hold, which most banks will remove within 3-5 business days if not settled by the merchant. With no order in the system due to incorrect billing information, we are unable to settle on the authorization and it is removed. For those with check card accounts, multiple authorizations can be a temporary burden on your checking account.
So, in closing, when placing your order, be sure to enter the correct billing address. You will be ask later in the order process to enter a different shipping address, if applicable. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, you can call us at 888-575-5575. Our courteous customer service staff will be more than happy to assist you with your order.
